September Campout!
Yes, it’s that time of year again! Time to get camping!
The troop will be headed to Gilbert Lake State Park, in Laurens, on Friday, September 25th, returning on Sunday, September 27th. This will be a great campout, at a beautiful location. Scouts need to bring a bag dinner for Friday night, and weather appropriate gear. Cost is $10, and the form and money is due next Tuesday, September 22nd. The form can be found under 'Reference' at the top of this page.
Questions? Call Tim Hicks at 821-2838 or email him at thicks@hamilton.edu.

The first meeting of Troop 108 for this year will be Wednesday, September 9th at 6:30 at the Cassety Hollow Rod and Gun Club. Boys who want a position should make plans to attend as elections will be held.
New Eagle Scouts
I am very pleased and proud to announce that Alec Strohmeyer and Patrick Zenon are now Eagle Scouts. Alec and Pat completed their Eagle Boards of Review this evening, and are Troop 108’s newest Eagles.
Jon Olin's Eagle Court of Honor
Jon Olin's Eagle Court of Honor will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2:00 PM, at the Waterville Historical Society on White Street. Hope to see you there!
National Jamboree
Boys interested in going to the National Jamboree (http://www.bsajamboree.org/)in 2010 should contact Mr. Tom Labayewski, Council Field Director, at either tom.labayewski@scouting.org or (315) 735 - 4437 as soon as possible.
June Campout!
The June campout will be a one night event at Hamilton College in Clinton. We will leave from the Waterville Fire House on Saturday, June 20th at 8:30am, and return on Sunday, June 21st at 10am.
We have the opportunity to experience the high and low ropes course at Hamilton College. Those scouts who have done a ropes course in the past know how much fun this will be, and the ones who haven't will soon learn!
May Campout in the Adirondacks!
This year’s May Campout is proving to be one of the cooler ones we’ve taken in a while. Camp Santanoni Preserve, in Newcomb, NY, is a beautiful 13,000 acre forest preserve and National Historic Landmark acquired by New York State in 1972. We will be driving the 2 ½ hours to Newcomb, then hiking or mountain biking 5 miles in to our site.
This is a backpacking style campout. Pack lightly, we will be hiking 5 miles each direction. If you plan on bringing your mountain bike, remember that YOU will be riding with your full backpack and you will go nowhere if you don’t have a helmet.
April Campout!
Mr. Mowrey has arranged for us to camp just outside of Leonardsville for our April Campout! Only a one nighter, this campout will be backpacking style. The troop will hike in with full packs a couple of miles to the intended site. Scouts will need to bring their own backpack appropriate (non-squishable) lunch and two quarts or Nalgene bottles of water.
This will be a fun campout, and a brief message for parents to give to the older scouts: there will be Christmas trees involved in the evening......they'll know what I'm talking about!
Bowl-A-Ree
Troop 108 will be having their annual Bowl-A-Ree on Wednesday, April 22nd from 6pm-8:15pm at the Oriskany Falls Bowling Center. All money collected will be donated to the Waterville Area Food Pantry. Scouts should bring all collected money and $7.50 for bowling fees to the bowling center that night. Please note the collection form on the Reference Page above.
