Adult Leader Handbook

By Tom Olin - Posted on 24 November 2007

This book provides information intended to help adult leaders perform their duties.

Someday, it should contain a chapter for each adult leadership position, including those of Scoutmaster (and assistants) and committee members of all roles. Each chapter should provide a how-to for performing the functions of that chapter's position. Chapters should also document specific procedures that their positions are required to perform.

As you are writing your chapter, ask yourself, "What would a new person have to know in order to do what this position requires?" By answering that question fully and clearly, you help ensure that future troop leaders will be better prepared to sustain and lead the troop. That is why this book exists.

Each chapter may be subdivided as needed, but the recommended organization is to include a general summary of the position on the top page with a subpage for each separate procedure that the position performs.

A separate chapter will contain procedures that involve multiple participants.
